“It is essential for every student to learn history in order to be an informed citizen of the world. I strive to show my students not only the importance of history, but also that learning history is as captivating as watching any TV show or reading any book.”
Middle School teacher Saranicole Marino joined Poly’s History faculty in 2024. Saranicole is a Poly Middle and Upper School alumna, and is thrilled to return to Poly as a teacher. The Poly community, and especially its teachers, had a profound impact on her life. She hopes to provide the same support and knowledge to her students.
Saranicole spent a decade working as an employment lawyer before changing careers to pursue her passion for history and teaching. She earned a Bachelors of Arts in History with a minor in Art History, and a Juris Doctor from The George Washington University. In 2024, she obtained an Advanced Certificate in Secondary Education from Hofstra University.
