“For there is always light, if only we’re brave enough to see it. If only we’re brave enough to be it.” – Amanda Gorman
Teaching and learning have been constants in Meghan Whitenack’s P’31, ‘34 life. A career-changer with a multifaceted background, Meghan joined Poly in 2020 as a Lower School substitute teacher during COVID before becoming an Associate Teacher in Grade 4 in 2021. Since then she has become Head Teacher in Grade 3 in 2022, followed by Grade 4 in 2024. Prior to teaching, Meghan worked at Scholastic Inc. for 12 years in global strategic marketing for educational products and technology. After collaborating with hundreds of teachers and students in an effort to achieve higher literacy worldwide, Meghan–who has always felt at home in the classroom–ultimately decided she wanted to be a teacher. A Philadelphia native, Meghan earned a B.A. in English and Education at Colgate University and an M.A. in Secondary English Education from NYU Steinhardt School. Outside of school you can find Meghan spending time with her family in Prospect Park, cooking and entertaining friends at home, running and exercising, or exploring restaurants, museums, live music, and all that NYC has to offer.
“I believe so strongly in education. It is our change agent and our way forward to a better future. I am honored and proud to dedicate myself to a new generation of Poly students.”
