“Everyday may not be good, but when truly caring for yourself, you can find something good and beautiful in every day.”
Mayan Charles has been passionate about both sports and administration from an early age, a blend she gained from both of her parents. This drive led to Mayan earning a B.S. in Sports Medicine and pursuing a related career. She went on to earn a M.S in Sports Business and Entertainment at Manhattanville College. Over the course of her career, Mayan has worked with the Brooklyn Nets summer camp, coached JV Girls basketball, taught middle- and elementary-age students, and provided administrative assistance for championship events with the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC). Mayan joined Poly Summer in 2024 as a Camp Administrator. Later that year she became Auxiliary Programs Coordinator where she supports programming, communication with parents of more than 500 campers, and a large staff. In addition, she assists with Poly PM—an afterschool program for Poly Middle School students. When not at Poly, she enjoys many activities such as crocheting, cycling, heavy lifting, and going on new adventures, big and small.
