“I have stayed at Poly all these years because I am excited to work with a student body that is so uniquely diverse, and because I share the school’s educational philosophy of encouraging students to have a broad liberal arts and rich extracurricular experience; I believe that this philosophy is at the core of Poly’s identity. Poly is a transformative place for students, and I hope to encourage in my students a sense of wonder about the world around them and a desire to make that world a better place.”

Harry Bernieri ’85, P’15, 19 has been teaching history and world religions at Poly since the fall of 1989 in both the Middle and Upper Schools. Over his many years at Poly, he has taught history and world religions for Grades 7-9 and 11-12, and coached football and track. He has also served as a Middle School Dean, Upper School Dean of Students, and Interim Head of the Upper School. He received his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College and his master’s from Wesleyan University. His two children are also Poly graduates: Sean ’15 and Isabel ’19.
