“I want to engage my students through a process of self-discovery and interactive pedagogy. I want their experience of history to come alive through dynamic and hands-on activities that are student-driven.”

Middle School history teacher Caesar Fabella P’18 has been teaching since 1982 in Asia, Paris, and, since 2001, at Poly. Caesar earned an B.A. and M.A. in Philosophy and History from Ateneo de Manila University and a M.Phil. in Education from the University of Cambridge. His love of history was fostered by his parents, who were teachers, and grandfather, head of the History Department at the University of the Philippines. Caesar’s specialty is teaching Ancient History to Grade 6 and helping them prepare projects for the annual Ancient Civilizations Festival. His students enjoyed Caesar’s great guided tour of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s permanent collection. A few years ago, Caesar created an audio tour of Lower Manhattan to enhance the experience for his students on a field trip. Caesar has been known to add his melodic voice and guitar playing at Middle School Assembly.
