“I decided to come to Poly because of its amazing extracurriculars, said MaKiyah Turner-Hicks ’24. “I’m really interested in theater, visual arts, language, and sports, and Poly offers all of those and more. The character of Poly staff also led me to come here instead of other schools. When I returned to Poly after my interview, I was greeted kindly by name by multiple admissions employees, who I still talk to from time to time. I really appreciate how Poly gives students lots of opportunities to take positive leadership roles to better the community. They do this by forming affinity and alliance groups to find out how they can make Poly more comfortable and inclusive, asking students to speak in assemblies and allowing us to participate in student government. By doing anything they can to educate us and by encouraging communication and leadership in the classroom, Poly prepares its students for the future.”
