According to Nielsen ratings and NBC’s internal data, over 30.6 million viewers worldwide tuned into the 2024 Olympics in Paris, France. Audiences watched with emotion as superstar athletes shattered records and made history in real-time during two and a half extraordinary weeks of sports and competition on the world’s biggest stage.
Making her debut on the world stage was one of our own, Class of 2023’s Ariana Rodriguez, who represented the Dominican Republic in the women’s volleyball tournament at the 2024 Olympics. Competing as a setter, Rodriguez was part of the national team making its fourth Olympic appearance. The games, held from July 28 to August 11, 2024, were intense matchups of the world’s greatest talents. Ultimately, the Dominican Republic national team experienced a mix of wins and losses. Italy claimed the gold medal in women’s volleyball, the United States took silver, and Brazil earned bronze.
A shining example for all our student-athletes at Poly, we know that this is only the beginning for Rodriguez and she will continue to make groundbreaking achievements and leave her mark on major competitions worldwide.
